Sunday Juice Fast
For a long time I have been wanting to do a juice fast to take my healing to a whole new level, but it wasn’t until last Sunday that I actually did one ~ and I am so glad I did! I noticed that this past week, after the fast, I had more energy and felt better overall!
I have been following the Medical Medium protocol for about two years and have had so many positive shifts in my health from these changes! I wrote a little about my story here, and will continue to share more! For those of you who haven’t heard about this protocol, you can find everything you need to know in Anthony's first book ‘Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal.’ He also offers a lot for free on his website (www.medicalmedium.com) via blogs and a free program called 'The Healing Path.' A quick summary of what Anthony, the Medical Medium shares, is to eat as many live foods as possible which includes, wild foods, fruits, vegetables and herbs along with high quality supplements! It just makes sense, right?!
The juice fast I am referring to is on pages 272-273 in his first book and Anthony says how doing 1 day juice fasts is another helpful healing tool to help support and accelerate our healing process! He recommends doing it on a day when you can rest (and have access to a bathroom), so that is why Sundays seem like the perfect day to do this!
The fast is so simple, just juice (organic if possible) a combination of cucumbers, celery and apples and drink 16-20 oz every 2 hours. In between you can drink 16 oz of clean water with freshly squeezed lemon. At the end of the day you will have consumed 6 juices and 6 lemon waters!
When I did this cleanse last week, I was surprised at how well I felt. I did feel hungry,
but as soon as I started to feel cranky hungry (hangry) it was always time for my next juice! The lemon water also helped to keep me satiated. Just an added note, I didn't clean the juicer every time, I just rinsed it a couple times if needed, but as I was juicing quite frequently, I didn't clean the entire juicer until my last juice of the day.
I did have about an hour of nausea in the afternoon, which Carolyn (who I work with at Primrose Cottage Wellness and is one of Anthony’s referred practitioners) said that was probably because some remaining bacteria was being detoxed out of me! Yay - take that bacteria! LOL!
Not only did I want to share this with you to inspire, but if you feel ready, this is also a call to action to JOIN ME! I am going to try and do this every Sunday and a few of you have already expressed that you would like to try this too! You don't have to do the whole day, you could start with one meal replacement, or simply add a juice to your daily routine! Just start at a place and at a pace that both you and your body are ready for!

*UPDATE - I am now on my 11th (Woweee!) Sunday of doing this juice cleanse and I keep doing it as I feel so great from it! I also noticed that although I have changed nothing else in my daily diet or exercise routine, that some stubborn weight is beginning to shed! Woohoo, yet another reason to continue this! I have also had some breakouts on my face and some other strep symptoms flare up a little, which I believe is because I am cleansing on a deeper level. Bye Bye Strep ...and Hello Even Better Health!
Those old symptoms flared up after week 4 or 5 and now they have subsided and my skin is almost clear again! I love doing this cleanse and I have surprised even myself at how long I have been doing it for, but it is too good not to!
