Custom Duties and Taxes for the European Union/UK

Starting 1st July 2021, Etsy will collect VAT from buyers on orders that meet the following criteria:

*The purchase is for a physical item.

*The item is shipped to a location in the EU.

*The goods are dispatched from outside the EU.

*The total value of the package (including gift wrap but excluding delivery) is less than or equal to €150.

*VAT is applied to the full order total, which includes item price, delivery, and gift wrap charges.

For orders over €150, customs duties and VAT will still be collected by the postal operator when the goods are imported into the EU. This will vary per country. You can find out an estimate of what percentage your country charges here:

How VAT appears at checkout

If you select a country in the EU as your region on Etsy, you’ll see VAT included on the item price for listings not exceeding €150 from shops outside of the EU.

Please note that the VAT seen before purchase is an estimated value. The final amount will be calculated at checkout and is determined by two things:

the type of item you’re buying and, the VAT rate on those types of items in the country you’re shipping to.

International Orders - if you are unable to check out, please send a screenshot of your order to office@katwb.com
